Two Memphis Group style design glasses designed by Shafaq Malik for Barovier & Toso, Czech Republic, height 15.5 cm, diameter 7.5 cm, width 10 cm, in pristine unused condition and signed on the base with a B.A.G. sticker.
Description from the seller
Two design glasses in Memphis Group style designed and executed by Shafaq Malik at the end of the last century in the Czech Republic for Barovier & Toso. Both glasses are in excellent original condition and are signed on the bottom and bear the B.A.G. sticker.
Height 15.5 cm
Shafaq graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Texas Christian University in Forth Worth, Texas, in 2011. She worked as a glass artist from 1995 to 2003 and was employed at various Art Glass Studios in the U.S. (Fanoos), Czech Republic (Barovier & Toso, Ajeto, Studio Prince, Studio Hut Charlotta), and Sweden (Lindshammar). Her work is exhibited in museums worldwide and collected by glass enthusiasts. In addition to her glasswork, she is currently working as a multimedia artist, creating 3D paintings.
