Lot of five alpine minerals from the Italian Alps, titled 'MINERALI delle ALPINI ITALIANE', with quartz crystals on matrix and an orthoclase with chlorite, total weight 1030 g, origin Alpi italiane, Italia.
Description from the seller
Lotto 'Alpine minerals' – selected crystals from Alpine cavities
This elegant lot, with a total weight of 1035 grams, brings together five specimens from the alpine regions. A harmonious ensemble that highlights the crystalline forms typical of alpine cavities, featuring four very similar quartz samples and an orthoclase in fine association with chlorite, offering an essential yet representative overview of high-altitude mineral aesthetics.
The lot includes:
• Quarzi – alpine cavities (4 specimens)
Quartz crystals (SiO2) with a prismatic hexagonal habit and rhombohedral terminations, vitreous luster, and transparency ranging from transparent to translucent. Grown in open fractures at low to medium temperatures, they display clean surfaces and elegant proportions; minor accessory inclusions are present within the matrix. Possible veils or green 'phantom' features caused by thin chlorite coatings; no significant fluorescence under UV.
Orthoclase with chlorite – alpine cavities
Potassium feldspar (KAlSi3O8) of attractive appearance, with thin patinas and micro-aggregates of green chlorite on the surface and in the matrix, typical of alpine fissures, providing color contrast and geological interest.
This lot combines five representative samples from alpine cavities, selected for balance, crystalline quality, and aesthetic appeal. From clear, proportioned quartz to delicate patinas of chlorite on orthoclase, each piece tells an authentic fragment of high-altitude mineralogy.
Kire Minerals is proud to present this refined lot, personally selected by Erik Lombini with the usual passion and expertise. Each sample is the result of careful research and best represents the elegance and variety of alpine mineralogy.
