Description from the seller
Original 1971 edition, large format, published by Cercle d'Art.
The book is a critical/documentary volume on Picasso's time in Avignon, around the 1970 exhibition at the Palais des Papes in Avignon, France.
The book brings together 212 illustrations — which allows, through black & white or color images, to (re)discover Picasso's late art (his colors, his formats, his free style).
Rafael Alberti’s text accompanies these reproductions and comments on Picasso’s “painting in motion” — that is, his late period, his creative renewal, the freedom of his style, the energy, the color, the emotion.
- Original edition, large format, rich iconography — which covers an important and sometimes little-known phase of Picasso's work.
- Number of pages: 236
- Dimensions: 31.3 x 23.9 cm
Hardcover with dust jacket
Condition: Excellent, interior free of annotations and dog-eared pages, beige cloth cover in excellent condition. Dust jacket with a few minor marks on the corners.
See the photos included in the description.
Very beautiful specimen.
It will be delivered in a carefully packaged, robust, and tracked package.
