Impressive giant fossil sea urchin. This species is extremely rare and unusually large for its kind. Preparing the specimen was a painstaking process, carefully preserving even the finest details of the shell. Three radioles (the spines of this sea urchin species) are included in the lot (see photos). The deposit where they were found is characterized by very hard black limestone, which greatly complicated the preparation process. Specimens of this size are very rare and scarce.
