While eurypterids ('Sea Scorpions') are uncommon fossils worldwide, New York state and Ukraine are among the few places where conditions for preservation have been ideal.
They were large arthropod predators during the Silurian and Devonian, reaching a maximum length of 2 meters.
Eurypterus (Baltoeurypterus) tetragonophthalmus Fischer, 1839, is presumed to have crawled along the seafloor, using its grasping pincers to seize trilobites and other prey.

Restoration notes: Swimming paddles and Telson are rebuilt.
The matrix has been carefully reinforced in areas that were slightly thinner to ensure optimal strength and durability.
Specimen is 8.5 cm.
Matrix is 10 x 6.5 cm.
In recent years, Fossils have become design objects that possess a universal appeal across all languages and cultures.
