Description from the seller
2 x 2019 2 x 2020 Barrua
AGRIPUNICA was founded in Sardinia in 2002. With its 170 hectares of land, the adventure took its first steps in the wine scene, between reality and excellence, with the leadership of: Tenuta San Guido, Cantina di Santadi, Antonello Pilloni, president of the winery itself, and the legendary Tuscan winemaker, Giacomo Tachis. AGRIPUNICA was born precisely from the ideas of Tachis, who thought of Sardinia and the millenary crops of Sulcis for the production of great wines.
The Sulcis area is famous for its red-berried grapes and allows to obtain quality wines, not only in terms of colour, but also in terms of structure and alcohol density. Geographically, the Basso Sulcis area is almost totally delimited by the sea. It is thought that the practice of enology was born in this area as early as the 13th century BC. The best known wine produced in this area of Sardinia is Carignano, one of the few variants that manages to express itself at its best in such a sandy soil, and its robust, bursting, yet delicate notes make it a territorial excellence, to the point of deserving the Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC) indication.
Barrua
Barrua is a red wine with the I.G.T. Appelation of Isola dei Nuraghi.
It comes from native grapes and French varieties vinified in purity and from the spurred cordon vineyards cultivated in Basso Sulcis. It is a wine with an intense and lively ruby-red colour, with complex aromas of ripe red fruit (mainly black cherry), spices, notes of liquorice and hints of myrtle. This elegant wine shows an impeccable workmanship.
