Born in Tokyo in 1940, Kazumasa Suda graduated from the Tokyo College of Photography and became the exclusive photographer for the “Ceiling Pier,” a theatrical laboratory run by Shuji Terayama, and later began his freelance career. He has been actively exhibiting his works even in the 21st century. Kazumasa Suda is one of the leading postwar photographers in Japan, and continues to present his works energetically even in the 21st century. This book, published in 1996 and awarded the 16th Ken Domon Award, is composed of photographs taken in Tokyo and all over Japan over a period of about 30 years starting in the 1960s. The book is a fascinating book with its unique interplay of the ordinary and the extraordinary.
