Serving trolley - Bamboo, Rattan - Mid-Century

It is a wicker and bamboo tea trolley from the 1950s-60s, similar to those in Italy called 'aperitif carts,' which were always present in chic homes or seaside villas. Entirely handmade with light bamboo canes and woven rattan, it features two identical rectangular shelves, both with slatted bottoms and high edges formed by a series of woven arches that almost resemble a small decorative balustrade, a very common motif from that period.

Four sturdy uprights, also made of bamboo, support the structure and are reinforced with spiral-wound rattan bands; at the bottom, it ends with four slightly flared legs and four small black iron wheels (two front swivel, two fixed at the back). At one end, there is a single curved handle, also made of bent bamboo, which allows for easy pushing or pulling. The color is the typical honey-golden hue of aged bamboo, with some light dark patina from time and use.
