Description from the seller
Unique Amsterdam School Lamp – handmade by Studio Vroonland, inspired by De Pijp (Amsterdam)
This special lamp is a unique art object fully inspired by the rich vocabulary of forms of the Amsterdamse School and the architectural atmosphere of De Pijp in Amsterdam. The design emerged from an intensive study of this expressive building style, known for its organic lines, decorative details, and artisanal finish.
During walks through the historic part of the Pijp — organized by Salon — we came into contact with a local stained glass artist from the neighborhood. This encounter marked the beginning of a special collaboration where traditional stained glass craftsmanship and contemporary design come together in a single object.
The result is this unique lamp, made from Antique glass in various colors and patterns. Each piece of glass is hand-selected and subtly references the characteristic elements of the Amsterdamse School: warm tones, rhythmic lines, and refined artisanal details.
This lamp is not just a light object, but a piece of Amsterdam culture and craftsmanship — a rare collectible that is both atmospheric and sculptural.
