Paleolithic hand axe, made from iron-rich jasper and stone, with a clearly defined working edge, measuring 11 cm high and 9.5 cm wide, in very good condition, acquired in 2024 from the Netherlands and part of a private collection.

Prehistoric stone hand axe / heavy-duty chopper made from a dense iron-rich jasper/silcrete-type stone.
The piece shows a clearly defined working edge with multiple flake scars and a naturally raised dorsal ridge.
Its ergonomic shape suggests use for chopping, breaking, or general processing tasks.
The material is very hard and well-suited for impact work.
Provenance:
Found in the Netherlands (river terrace gravels).
Stone objects of this prehistoric type have been collected and held in private collections in the Netherlands since before 1999.
This specific item was acquired directly by the current owner in 2024–2025, the Netherlands, and has since formed part of a private collection.
