Description from the seller

Two Balinese winged hanging figures – 'flying frog' & 'flying child/apsara' – hand-carved wood, polychrome & gilded – Bali, circa 1960–1980

A unique and playful duo of traditional Balinese hanging decorations, handcrafted from wood and vividly painted in lively shades of green, red, blue, and gold. These are two very characteristic figures:

Flying Frog – executed in bright green with large, multi-layered wings, gold accents, and typical Balinese ornamentation.

Winged baby / apsara figure – with expressive facial features, gold-painted decorative ornaments, and stylized wings. This type of figure is rare; it refers to mythological aerial beings (apsara, bidadari, or child spirits from Balinese storytelling traditions).

The combination is highly decorative and rarely occurs together. Both figures are intended to be displayed hanging and serve as a real showstopper in interior or collection spaces.

Origin: Bali, Indonesia
Period: approx. 1960–1980
Material: hand-carved wood, polychrome painted, gilded.

Dimensions (approx.):
Frog: 31 cm long
Flying child: 28 cm long

Condition:
Good vintage condition. Some signs of age appropriate for its age: small paint spots, slight wear on wing tips, and tiny chips. Everything is stable and has a beautiful authentic appearance. The photos are an integral part of the description.

Shipping:
Carefully packed in a custom-made box and shipped insured.
