Siddhartha Gautama Buddha was a spiritual leader whose teachings form the basis of Buddhism. According to Buddhist tradition, he lived from approximately 450 BC to approximately 370 BC in Nepal and India. Modern historians suggest a period around 480-400 BC. According to religious traditions, Gautama Buddha attained complete and full enlightenment, the Buddhahood.
The name Siddhartha means: whose goal is fulfilled or whose every wish is fulfilled.
