The Langhe Nebbiolo from the Piedmontese winery Batasiolo is a fragrant and balanced interpretation of the most important Langhe grape. Founded in 1978, Batasiolo has always been run by the Dogliani family, who today manage an incredible 156 hectares of vineyards, producing a vast and diverse range of wines based on the finest wines of Lower Piedmont. Among these, pride of place is reserved for Nebbiolo, a variety the family has cultivated since the 1970s, when they acquired their seven estates scattered across some of the grape's most prestigious growing areas.
Batasiolo Langhe Nebbiolo is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes, typically hand-harvested in the first half of October. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed and then pressed in stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, accompanied by approximately 10 days of maceration on the skins, during which periodic pumping over is performed.
