Alvar Aalto - Drawn in the Sand: Unrealised Visions - 2002

This book and the accompanying exhibition offer a fascinating addition to our understanding of Aalto's work as a whole. The projects presented here were selected from lesser-known works from different periods and were primarily conceived to be built outside Finland. It is a journey of discovery into what is perhaps one of the most interesting aspects of Aalto's work. How the unrealized projects would have been executed, however, will remain an eternal question mark. Includes plans and elevations.
