According to Francesco Ricasoli, Torricella is "the white soul of Brolio" and comes from a vineyard originally planted with Malvasia Toscana vines and located near a renowned Tuscan estate. This estate was called Torricella. Since 2003, this vineyard has been entirely planted with Chardonnay vines, producing a white wine with enormous aging potential. Francesco comments: "With Torricella, a truly great white wine has been created right from the first vintage, capable of giving its best even after many years of aging. It's amazing that even 50- or even 70-year-old vintages are still lively and fresh. Just look at the analysis data—alcohol, total acidity, pH, and volatile acidity—which very often demonstrate the longevity of this wine."
The complex bouquet is reminiscent of citrus fruits, white flowers, and honey, with a wonderfully fresh and velvety balance on the palate. The full, fresh fruit combines with subtle hints of vanilla and cinnamon, and this white wine also features a discreet minerality and subtle spice that make it unique. The finish is long and harmonious.
