Description from the seller

Unobtainable copy of the French original edition of 'The Devil's Playground' signed and inscribed by Nan Goldin on the title page. Nan Goldin is recognized worldwide as one of the figures of contemporary photography. Nan Goldin also published 'La Ballade de la dépendance sexuelle,' which is listed in Photobook by Parr & Badger, volume II, page 39.

To better view the photographs, you can click on one of them to display it on a black background, which highlights it even more and is equipped with front/back functions that you can also exit at any time to return to the standard display.

Nan Goldin's work on drag queens began quite early in the 1970s, and she lovingly explored minority communities tied to the nightlife, drugs, and self-destruction. She photographed people from these backgrounds because they were her friends, her lovers, and her family. The series of portraits of her gay and lesbian friends, almost all of whom were killed by AIDS, created intimate and compelling images of astonishing audacity that chronicle our times. This book devotes considerable space to the artist's recent works, much of which has never been seen before.

Book from my personal collection, in excellent condition and preserved with the greatest care. . Protected shipping with reinforced packaging and guaranteed international postal tracking.
