[Description]
The ED76 class was introduced in 1965 in Kyushu as an AC electric locomotive for both passenger and freight service. Based on the ED75, it has a steam generator (SG) and an extended body, including a center bogie to handle the extra weight. After the privatization, some ED76s were inherited by JR Freight and received updates—this “updated version” reflects those modifications.

This model (9140) replicates the JR Freight updated specifications, featuring a white stripe along the side, stainless steel crew doors, and other characteristic updates. Detailed roof fittings, lights, handrails, and coupling details are modeled with care. It is well-suited for hauling container trains or other freight consists.
