Description from the seller
6.72cm long x 4.26 cm wide Otudus Obliqus teeth
It is a beautiful, long & quality Otudus Obliqus teeth with unsymmetrical root, characteristic un-serrated profile and highly pointed tip with prominent side cusps. It looks very beautiful when viewed from the front as if its a sleek racing car.
This teeth is from the front of the Otudus Obliqus jaw as front teeth are more pointed and straight with the main function of piercing the flesh of the prey while the mid jaw teeth are more curved which makes it easy for the Shark to gulp its prey. The root of the teeth have yellowish spots which is indicative of presence of Iron compound during fossilzation process
Post excavation professional grade repair work is done on side of the root to make it long lasting as those teeth are usually find in hard / semi-hard rock matrix, so their retrieval can be challenging. The teeth has been professionally conserved as well.
