Description from the seller
Vintage patented wall lamp
Rarely beautifully crafted vintage scissor lamp with an ingenious wooden 'gear' for adjusting the lamp.
This system was invented by Teunis Johan Wilhelm Zweers from Bussum. In August 1959, he applied for a patent on it. It was granted in March 1962 under patent number 100,813. The stamp of this patent can be seen on the back of the lamp.
The arm of the wall lamp can be swiveled to the left or right. The elegantly shaped holder for the lamp is adjustable with a wing nut, allowing it to be directed upwards, downwards, or at any angle in between. With this lamp, you can literally go in any direction!
The scissor lamp can be extended up to an impressive 160 cm (measured from the wall to the wooden cap). When shortened, the lamp is 39 cm. The wall plate is 37 cm high. Additionally, the entire arm can swivel 180 degrees!
The button on the wall plate doesn't work, but the switch on the cord obviously does. The cord is copper-colored and is over 4.3 meters long in total, including the plug. The fitting is E27 (large fitting).
The lamp is delivered including a shade. The height of the shade is 20 cm. The diagonal at the top measures 10.5 cm, and at the bottom, it is 17.5 cm.
The scissor lamp is, especially for its age, in very good condition!
This lamp is truly old-fashioned craftsmanship!
