Description from the seller
Massive silver fruit bowl, finely crafted in the Louis XVI style by goldsmith Georges BOIN, identifiable by his master's hallmark, the house BOIN-TABURET at 3 Rue Pasquier in Paris.
The border is decorated with floral motifs and stylized scrolls. The entire piece rests on four carved goats, providing a base that exudes a sense of luxury and exclusivity inspired by the Empire style.
The main body of the cup is made of cut transparent glass, allowing its content to be showcased.
In the center of the cup, two oval medallions are finely detailed with ribbons featuring botanical decorations. This medallion adds an extra touch of refinement to this exceptional piece of goldsmith's work, and one of them bears the initials of the family inscribed on it.
With its generous dimensions, this 950-millimeter silver fruit bowl is both elegant and functional. Its weight of 460 grams, excluding the glass, and its craftsmanship quality make it a highly valuable collectible item. The first-tier Minerve punch certifies its high artisanal quality, and the goldsmith's punch testifies to the skill of Parisian goldsmiths from the French Second Empire.
Parisian jewelry pieces from the Second French Empire, Napoleon III, the pinnacle of refinement and good taste, a timeless classic.
