Rare Murano glass service from the 1970s, consisting of a bottle with stopper and six hand-decorated goblets in cobalt blue with 24 kt gold, never used and kept in showroom, origin Italy.
Description from the seller
Product Description
Rare set of Murano glass glasses and bottle, made in the 1970s with 'three fires' decoration and 24 kt pure gold. Carafe size: 37 cm.
This is a luxury service consisting of a bottle with a stopper and six glasses, all handcrafted and decorated by hand, never used and exclusively kept in a showroom.
The glass, in an intense cobalt blue, is embellished with rich applications of gold leaf, baroque scrolls, and raised enamel flowers, executed according to a complex and highly artisanal painting technique.
Processing 'a Tre Fuochi' – Explanation
The three-fire decoration is a highly skilled traditional Murano glass technique that involves three distinct firing steps in the kiln after the object is blown.
Initial firing to set the gold zecchino applied by hand.
Second firing to set the enamels and raised decorations.
Third firing to set details, lines, and finishing points.
This procedure requires:
long durations
great precision
High mastery of the decorator
and guarantees resistance, brilliance, and color depth to the decorations.
It is a costly technique and today rarely reproduced due to the high cost of gold and production complexity.
Certification included
