Two illustrated French editions titled 'XXe Siècle: 1er année no. 1 & 2', featuring Kandinsky, Pascin, De Chirico, Picasso, Le Corbusier, Miró, Zadkine, Arp, Bonnard, Man Ray and others; two softcover books, about 100 pages each, published in 1938, in good condition.
Description from the seller
These are the rare issues numbers 1 and 2 of the first series of the famous publication 'Revue XXe Siecle', published in 1938. Completely intact and in good condition.
These issues do not contain original lithographs, but include some color reproductions and many black-and-white illustrations. The layout was also different, as you will find original illustrated articles by Kandinsky, Miro, and Zadkine.
Special copies for collectors. They are enjoyed as was probably customary. No. 1 is in very good condition, with some minor flaws on the front, slightly discolored and showing some wear. No. 2 is also in good condition. The back of this one shows dark spots caused by light exposure. The cover of this one is slightly bent at the top, see photos. Considering that they are nearly 90 years old, we can consider the condition of these books to be good.
