Description from the seller
Extensive deposit of very white datolite on a vein – Sasso di Castro, Firenzuola, Tuscany
This impressive specimen, weighing 1809 grams and measuring 174 × 95 × 98 mm, comes from Sasso di Castro, a location renowned for its rich mineralizations of datolite. The sample is distinguished by the presence of a distinctly raised vein running along the matrix, hosting a compact druse of very white crystals.
The band of druse, which develops uniformly along the main wall, is literally studded with crystals of glassy brilliance, which reflect light with a sparkling and uniform effect. The numerous and dense crystals create a true crystal carpet that embellishes the surface, offering a strong visual impact.
From a geological perspective, Sasso di Castro is one of the most representative Italian localities for datolite, where hydrothermal processes have favored the formation of very rich veins and geodes. The presence of such compact and luminous druses testifies to the continuity of mineralizing fluid deposition and makes this specimen particularly significant both for its aesthetics and scientific interest.
A sample of this size and quality undoubtedly falls into the category of display pieces, ideal for those who wish to enrich their collection with an impressive, pure specimen with a strong visual presence.
Kire Minerals is proud to present this extraordinary piece, personally selected by Erik Lombini with the utmost care. Each specimen is born from a choice motivated by years of experience and genuine passion for mineralogy.
