Description from the seller
Stunning high-quality Australian opal from Andamooka, one of the most renowned places in the world for extracting precious opal, from which the famous 'Queen's Opal' was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II in 1954. The luminous multicolored speckling makes this cabochon a unique piece for any collection or ideal for creating a luminous pendant. In terms of composition, this stone is a matrix opal, meaning a gemstone where the precious opal is distributed within and forms a single entity with the host rock.
The black color of the base comes from a carbonization treatment of sugar carried out to accentuate.
The effect of play-of-colour, an unmatched characteristic of this stone's charm.
Photography Settings
All items are photographed individually with a high-resolution camera in macro zoom mode indoors, using LED lighting at 5000 Kelvin, the color temperature closest to sunlight. The photos are not altered in any way, except for cropping.
