Description from the seller
Hexagonal roll-up storage system. Designed and created by Samuel Meijering in 1973.
Dimensions of the small model; a height of 18 cm, a width of 21 cm, and a depth of 27.5 cm. When unfolded, a length of 107 cm.
The large model is 21 cm high, 24 cm wide, and 27.5 cm deep. When unrolled, it has a length of 146 cm.
The famous Beige Rolykit toolbox. It is made of sturdy brown plastic. It is a cleverly designed six-sided foldable storage system. The system was conceived and designed in 1973 by filmmaker Samuel Meijering.
Meijering was distracted by the clutter on his desk while working on a film script. He started thinking about a solution, then began drawing. Finally, he assembled the cardboard design himself.
With his ex-classmate from the film academy Gied Jaspars, Meijering founded the company Golden Inventions, which sold the rights of the Rolykit for 1 million guilders to producer Van der Molen.
The Rolykit can be unrolled in one go, while the contents of all compartments in this storage box remain in place. The 'secret' of the Rolykit is that each storage compartment only becomes accessible when it lies flat on the surface. Finally, when the storage compartments are rolled back together, the bottom of one compartment becomes the lid of another.
