Rare Dutch Empire Cabinet in Solid Mahogany – circa 1800–1830
Exceptional Dutch Empire cabinet made of solid mahogany (not veneered), featuring its original bronze ornaments and original locks (key missing).
This elegant and rare piece represents the transition from late Louis XVI to early Empire period in the Netherlands.
The cabinet stands out for its refined architectural design, fluted details, tapered legs, and impressive bronze decorations depicting classical and mythological motifs.
The warm tone of the mahogany with its natural patina gives the furniture an elegant and timeless character.
Such fully solid mahogany Empire cabinets are very rare, as most Dutch examples from this period were veneered.
Purchased in the Netherlands.
Condition:
Very good for its age. Original locks present, key missing. Structurally solid, minor traces of age consistent with early 19th-century furniture.
