Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A carved wooden Toraja panel from a traditional Tongkonan house in Indonesia, mid-20th century, in good condition, from a private collection, measuring 58 × 32 × 1.5 cm (64 cm on the stand) and mounted on a custom metal stand.
Description from the seller
MEASUREMENTS: cm 58 x 32 x 1.5 (inches 22.8" x 12.6" x 0.6") Heigh on stand: cm 64 (inches 25.2")
Authentic carved wooden panel from a traditional Toraja house (Tongkonan). The piece displays classic pa’ssura motifs—abstracted curvilinear patterns associated with prosperity and ancestral protection.
While original pigments have largely faded, the surface shows age-appropriate erosion and minor losses at the lower edge, all consistent with long-term architectural use. The panel remains structurally solid.
Mounted on a custom metal stand, it presents as a striking sculptural object.
