Description from the seller
This lot includes a very entertaining English-language book about Alan Mann Racing with the Ford F3L/P68. It is a limited edition, in this case, edition 440 of a total of 999 copies.
The book is complete with an insert sleeve, and moreover, the full text in French is also included in an official appendix. The latter is still in its original shrink wrap.
Alan Mann Racing F3L/P68: The story of Ford’s three-litre sports cars from the sixties. Ed Heuvink is a richly illustrated reference work about the Ford P68 race car from the sixties and the Alan Mann Racing team that built and operated it.
The book tells the complete history of this three-liter sports car — from the racing regulations that forced Ford to design new cars, to the development of the vehicle around the legendary Ford-Cosworth DFV engine, the technical challenges on the track, and the short but adventurous racing career. Fans of the Ford GT40 will definitely enjoy this book.
Additionally, it covers the role of Alan Mann Racing, the background of Ford in motorsport, and the later period of the P68 in historic races. It includes photos, technical details, a foreword by driver Richard Attwood, and an introduction by Henry Mann, the son of Alan Mann.
