Oil vase Aryballe
Ancient Roman-era bronze.
1st-3rd century
This type of vase is used to contain the oil with which the Romans coat their bodies in the baths, to soften their skin. Then they scrape it off using the strigile, a curved metal instrument, to remove impurities.
Bronze with a green patina, deformations, and a hole on the body.
Dimensions 7 x 5.5 x 5.5 cm
