The figure of the “Mother Goddess” is one of the most emblematic terracotta pieces of the Indus Valley civilization, specifically from Mohenjo-daro. It is a handmade sculpture dating from approximately 2500 BC. It represents a female figure, associated with fertility, motherhood, and the continuity of life.
