Description from the seller

Icon of Danish mid-century design! Handmade bread guillotine 'Raadvad', Denmark, pattern 294, short version in beautiful orange enamel. The lettering and shape of the wooden handle indicate that this is a model from around the 1960s. The slicer is solidly made of iron, wood, and enamel. The blade is sharp, clean, with no signs of significant wear. This bread slicer was designed by Ove Larsen in the 1930s and produced by the renowned Danish company Raadvad in the 1940s and 1950s. The model 294 slicer is equipped with a 'guide,' consisting of two boards set at an angle to each other. The blade moves on a lever with a handle. The guillotine is in good vintage used condition. The wooden elements have cracks. Height 24 cm, width 34.5 cm, depth 23 cm. Weight approximately 2.5 kg.

Pattern 294 was designed by Danish designer Ove Larsen in 1933. An industrial-style vintage kitchen design, today serves as a functional kitchen decoration. The Raadvad factory was established in 1758. Raadvad specialized in manufacturing knives and bread slicers, and after World War I, it was renamed Raadvad Knife Factories. The factory was synonymous with good and functional quality, which it has been famous for to this day for over 250 years.
