Pierre Duval (or du Val), the king's geographer, born on May 19, 1619, in Abbeville, and died on September 29, 1683, in Paris, was a French geographer. He studied and successfully taught the science cultivated by his uncle Nicolas Sanson.
A Parisian. At the Author's on the Quai de l'Orloge, near the Palace; With privilege of His Majesty, for 20 years. 1669.
To Monseigneur the Dauphin, by his very humble, very obedient, and very faithful servant, P. du Val, Geographer to the King.
Dimensions: 350mm x 450mm. Blank back.
Good margins, few stains, professional restoration for most of the margins, little printed surface lost in the upper right corner, overall in good general condition.
