Description from the seller
This Garrard SP20 Presto 4-speed turntable with Tempofoon amplifier is from 1967.
A 45 RPM puck was included. The semi-automatic mechanism can play records at 16, 33, 45, and 78 RPM.
The control knobs are for volume, treble, and bass.
The silversmith George Wickes started the company in London in 1722, which was renamed Garrard in 1735. In 1915, 'Garrard Engineering and Manufacturing Company' was established in Willesden, North West London. This company was part of 'Garrard the Crown Jewellers' and produced precision components for Defence. After the First World War, production of motor engines was resumed. The first model was called Number 1. Soon, the factory moved to Swindon, Wiltshire. In 1930, Garrard released a complete gramophone, and in 1932, the first record changer, the RC 1, was produced. In 1945, 'The Garrard Engineering and Manufacturing Company Ltd' was formed. In 1954, the first HiFi turntable, the 301, was introduced. In 1958, the factory burned down, but with the help of Plessey Company Ltd, production quickly resumed.
The player has been tested and the game is being shipped with tracking.
