Description from the seller

Engraving in copper on 5 plates, each approximately 400x490 mm (total size 400x2450 mm), engraved by Charles Amadeus de Berey, as indicated on the plate across multiple sheets 'gravé par Berey' and at the bottom center of the first sheet 'A Paris chez Berey graveur rue St. Jacques à la Princesse de Savoye 1704'. The longest map of the Po River ever published and the first to depict solely the course of the river, without extending to the surrounding territories. Each sheet with its own title at the top: 'The source of the Po and the crossings from France into Piedmont', 'The course of the Po in Piedmont and Monferrat', 'The course of the Po in Lombardy', 'The course of the Po in the Duchy of Mantua', 'The course of the Po in the Duchy of Ferrara and the Venetian States'. Second state published in 1734. Excellent example with joined sheets and good margins. Lands of Langobardia, Lombardia, the course of the Po, and the Estense Duchy in ancient printed cartography 1520-1796, no. 86; Arrigoni.

The source of the Po and the passages from France to Piedmont.
The course of the Po in Piedmont and Montferrat.
The course of the Po in Milanez.
The course of the Po in the Duchy of Mantua.
The course of the Po in the Duchy of Ferrara and the States of Venice.

The cards are in good condition, with very small detachments at the central folds, loose sheets, and wide margins, ready to be assembled into a single, large table over two and a half meters long.
