Six modern creative kokesi in shingata style

Shingata style (新型こけし), or 'modern kokeshi,' is a transitional style that emerged after the war, where artisans distanced themselves from traditional regional forms but simultaneously retained the classical foundations. Unlike the sōsaku (creative) kokeshi, the shingata style remains anchored in a certain artisanal rigor, with reproducible shapes and recognizable decorative elements.
