This spectacular wooden scale model depicts L’Ambitieux (1693), a 96-gun French line ship from the golden age of Louis XIV. It is an exceptionally large, richly detailed, and fully handcrafted model, built based on the high-quality Mantua/Sergal kit (original kit price €1,500).

A total of approximately 1075 hours of craftsmanship have been invested in this masterpiece. That is more than half a year of full-time work – something that is hardly done by modern builders anymore.

Why this model is rare
The original Mantua/Sergal kit has been out of production for years and is no longer supplied worldwide.
A construction project of 1075 hours is exceptional; such models are typically kept in private collections and not sold.
