LamPetit wall or table lamp designed by Bent Gantzel-Boysen for Louis Poulsen, Denmark, circa 1960–1970, made of metal chrome and plastic, 5 × 6 × 20 cm, weight 1,185 g, adjustable with two light levels, 220 V/12 V and 25 W, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and in working order.
Description from the seller
This vintage wall or table lamp Lampetit was designed by Bent Gantzel-Boysen (1930-2008) for Louis Poulsen in 1966. A small, compact lamp with rectangular shapes that was ahead of its time. This wall or table lamp is often attributed to Verner Panton but was designed by Bent Gantzel-Boysen.
This lamp is fully adjustable and has two light settings. It contains a 12 V / 25 W car lamp, but due to the reflector, this lamp provides a brightness equivalent to a 40-60W bulb. This design perfectly reflects the radical design mentality of the sixties, where geometry, functionality, and industrial elegance came together.
The lamp consists of sleek, rectangular metal volumes finished in a dark (black/antracite) coating. The adjustable arm construction creates a graphic silhouette and allows for precise light direction. The light is intentionally partially shielded, resulting in a cozy, indirect illumination — ideal for a desk, sideboard, or reading nook.
Bent Gantzel-Boysen was an innovative Danish designer who experimented with form and mechanics. With the Lampetit, he designed not a decorative object but an architectural light instrument: sober, intelligent, and timeless. Within Louis Poulsen's oeuvre, this model holds a special place due to its pronounced minimalist and almost brutalist appearance.
