Ancient Indus Valley steatite seal, face represents a so-called unicorn, standing before what might be a standard. Above with short inscription in Indus script. The Indus script, invented around 2600 B.C., is yet to be fully deciphered.

Date: Indus Valley, ca. 2600 - 1900 B.C.
Material: steatit
Size: ca. 2,2 cm x 2,2 cm
Condition: intact
Provenance: bought at Gorny & Mosch, prior to that German collection of Mr. Z., since 1966 in Germany
