Description from the seller

Chevrolet 210 Station Bel Air Wagon 1955 – 'The Hot One' – authentic American family classic.

In 1955, Chevrolet launched the second generation of the famous Bel Air series, affectionately known as 'The Hot One.' This generation marked a turning point for Chevrolet, thanks to its innovative design, powerful engines, and luxurious finishes with shiny chrome. The cars from this series embodied the optimistic spirit of post-war America – stylish, robust, and built to last for generations.

What fewer people know is that these models were offered in a variety of body styles. One of the most charming and rare variants was the Chevrolet 210 Station Wagon – a family car with the soul of a true American classic. This example combines space, elegance, and nostalgia in an aquamarine body with a contrasting white roof and an abundance of shiny chrome.

This Chevrolet was originally supplied new in the United States and currently has Colombian registration and the full European import documentation. All import duties and VAT have already been paid, making the car ready for registration in any European country.

In January 2024, the interior was completely reupholstered, carefully executed in the original color scheme: light green with gray-green vinyl and fabric, exactly as it was originally delivered from the factory. The seats, door panels, headliner, and floor coverings are in as-new condition and retain the authentic appearance of the 1950s.

Additionally, the front and rear bumpers have been rechromed, restoring the car's sparkling factory appearance. The cargo area has also been fully reupholstered with high-quality brown-toned carpet, and the fold-down rear seat provides extra luggage space.

The design of 1955 is characterized by the typical V-line in the grille, the wing-like taillights, and the refined use of chrome – subtle yet impressive. This car is a textbook example of American design from the golden years of Detroit. The interior of this station wagon is a celebration of color and detail. Everything exudes the atmosphere of the fifties, but in a fresh, well-maintained condition.

Under the hood lies the original 3.9-liter 'Blue Flame' inline 6 engine, producing 140 hp. This engine was known for its reliability and smooth operation, and was also used in the Corvette of the same year.

This 1955 Chevrolet 210 Station Wagon is a true time capsule from the golden era of the American auto industry. With its rare body style, fresh color combination, and recently renovated interior, this car offers the best of both worlds: authentic '50s charm and practical usability. Whether you're looking for a collector's item, a show-stopper for events, or simply a stylish weekend car, this Chevrolet provides a unique opportunity to own a piece of American history, in excellent and ready-to-drive condition.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
