Exceptional and complete copy of the historic album Prints from the Mourlot Press, printed in Paris on 27 October 1964 by Atelier Mourlot, the most renowned lithographic studio of the 20th century. Typography by Imprimerie Nationale under the direction of André Brignole.
This deluxe publication was issued in a total of 2,200 copies:
– 2,000 copies on Vélin d’Arches paper
– 200 copies on Vélin de Rives, reserved for the artists, staff, and friends of Mourlot.
The volume was published to accompany the travelling exhibition organized by the French Embassy and the Smithsonian Institution in the United States, celebrating three decades of artistic collaboration between Mourlot and the greatest modern painters.
Contains 22 original lithographs, all printed at Mourlot Frères, representing the work of the major artists who worked with the atelier, including:
Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, Georges Braque, Fernand Léger, Alexander Calder, André Derain, Bernard Buffet, Maurice Estève, Jacques Villon, Alfred Manessier, Jean Lurçat, Raoul Dufy, Kees van Dongen, Paul Jenkins, Jean Dubuffet, Pierre Bonnard, Henri Manguin, Jean Bazaine, Edouard Pignon and others.
The front cover lithograph is by Marc Chagall, specially created for this edition and printed in color.

Very well-preserved copy. Complete with all lithographs present, fresh colors, and clean pages. Binding tight and solid; minor wear consistent with age. The Chagall cover lithograph remains bright and unfaded.
A key reference work in 20th-century printmaking, uniting 22 original lithographs by the masters of modern art, all printed at Mourlot’s legendary Paris studio. One of the most important illustrated art books published in the 1960s.
On the blank front page and the end blank page there are 2 specific signs that I think comes from the printer, all the litographs in perfect condition, Chagall litographs covers clean and beautiful
