Certificate of appointment as President of the Assembly of the canton of Bourg, in the department of Ain, to citizen Thomas Riboud, based on the report that was made 'of his good morals, and his attachment to the laws of the Republic.'

Given at Saint-Cloud on 15 Pluviôse of the year 12 (February 5, 1804)

Grand and beautiful document signed by the First Consul Bonaparte (secretary, with countersignatures from the Secretary of State Hugues-Bernard Maret and Chaptal, Minister of the Interior).

In a beautiful golden frame.

Notes: Thomas Philibert Riboud (1755-1835) is known for having contributed to saving and protecting the royal monastery of Brou from destruction by having it declared a 'National Monument' by the Convention.

In good condition despite very faded writing, the signature 'Bonaparte' remains clearly visible.
