Rare vinaigrette / scent box made of solid silver, crafted by Ludwig Sebastian Groß, silversmith from Ludwigsburg. The finely detailed piece dates from the 19th century and measures 8.8 cm in height.

The corpus displays an elegant amphora shape with neoclassical floral and festoon reliefs, three-dimensional decorative elements, and a finely profiled plinth. The lid opens upwards and is completely gilded on the inside, as is typical for high-quality perfume and vinegar containers of that period. The inner bowl features the characteristic indentation for perfumes or a vinegar sponge.

The craftsmanship – bold reliefs, clear lines, and decorative borders – is typical of the Ludwigsburger silversmith works of the 19th century.

Original condition with a beautiful aging patina.
