Description from the seller
Magnificent Antique Baccarat Table Service - "Bouquet of Flowers" Model (Rohan-Style).
A rare opportunity to own an authentic and complete table service from the prestigious French crystal maker Baccarat (or an equivalent high-end manufacturer such as Saint-Louis), dating back to the golden age of Art Deco.
Main Features
Glassware: Baccarat.
Model: "Bouquet de Fleurs" (Flower Bouquet). The intricately engraved floral and leaf curl motif is typical of the Baccarat designs of the period, stylistically similar to the famous Rohan service.
Technique: Entirely made with refined acid-etched engraving, which gives the design a frosted effect and a delicate three-dimensionality.
Production Period: 1920s – Early 1930s.
Important Note on Authenticity and Signature
This is an authentic period set. The absence of the engraved signature (the circular mark) on the base is a normal and expected feature for pieces produced during this period.
Baccarat, in fact, introduced the systematic use of the acid-etched mark on tableware starting in 1936. Before that date, identification was done through adhesive labels, which have naturally faded with use and time, confirming the authenticity and antiquity of the set.
Piece Details
The set consists of seven pieces in total, including six goblets with knotted stems (boutons) and a matching carafe/jug. The quality of the crystal, the brilliance, and the precision of the engraving are testament to the excellence of French craftsmanship.
Please note: The attribution to Baccarat is based on an analysis of the motif and technique based on period catalogues.
Glass measurements:
H 8.5 cm
Ø 10.2 cm
H carafe 18.5 cm ø 7.5 cm
