Description from the seller
Large collection of fossil gastropods, mollusks, and nummulites – hundreds of specimens in approximately 40 folded boxes – Eocene (Lutetian).
Description
Very large and diverse collection of fossil gastropods and mollusks, consisting of hundreds of specimens, neatly stored in approximately 40 folding boxes.
The fossils originate from the Paris Basin, one of the most important regions for Lutetian marine deposits.
Among others originating from the following sources:
Fleury-la-Rivière
Damery
Fresnay
Cormoyeux
Many of these classic sites have now closed, become depleted, or are completely overgrown, making material from these locations increasingly scarce. Fossils from Damery are also particularly prized for their quality and variety.
The collection is stored in 2 boxes measuring 30 × 40 × 5 cm, containing approximately 40 folding boxes. The collection includes a wide variety of types and shapes.
