AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Made from 1926 in Altrincham (UK), this Special Ruby is in very good cosmetic condition.
The leather bellows are very good, the leather covering is in good condition with minimal signs of wear.
The black lacquered brass metal parts are also in good condition with few normal signs of wear (see photos).
This model is equipped with a slide for using 3x4 format plates.
The lens is the bright TAYLOR HOBSON COOKE ANASTIGMAT f/3.5 / 6 1/4 inch. It is in very good condition, without scratches or fungus. It is mounted on a plate allowing vertical shift.
The 12-blade diaphragm is in very good condition.
Focusing by extending the lens is perfectly achieved using the side button.
The adjustable-slit focal-plane shutter inspired almost all subsequent focal-plane shutters. It is adjustable for speeds from 1/10th to 1/1000th of a second plus exposure. The slit width adjustment system works well, at least as far as I understand. I haven't been able to get the exposure function to work!
The curtains are in good condition, although worn.

This shutter works, but the spring tension absolutely must be adjusted. It's very slow!

The mirror lift and shutter release control works
The sighting mirror is in good condition.
The ground glass of the reflex viewfinder and the focusing plate, removable, also at the rear.
