Charlotte Perriand's Pivotante table lamp consists of a central cylindrical body open on two sides, around which two diffuser shutters rotate to direct and filter the light. The base is made of matte gray painted steel, and the lamp body is painted blue metal. Power on via cable.

The rotating part is often considered the invention of the dimmable lamp.

According to Charlotte Perriand, lamps are not decorative elements added without reason, but a functional and technical component, a tool and an object that meet specific needs.
