Description

This original Chinese hand-knotted carpet made of pure natural silk dates from the late second half of the 20th century. The round central medallion with floral motifs, as well as the multi-layered, detailed borders, are typical features of classical Chinese carpet art.

The dominant color is a deep red with the characteristic silky shine, combined with gray, cream, and blue tones. Lotus flowers and fine leaf patterns appear symmetrically in the center and in the four corners.
