A special and very rare set of knife rests by J.J. Woldring - Groningen. These knife rests date from the Art Deco period (1920-1930). They are made of crystal, hand-cut and facet-cut. They feature a beautiful, sleek design; typical of Art Deco. Knife rests in this rectangular shape are rarely encountered!
They are housed in the original case bearing the name of the shop from which they were sold: J.J. Woldring - Luxury Articles - Stoeldraaiersstraat 10 - Groningen. The clasps also feature a very beautiful Art Deco design.
The set is in excellent condition! The knife rests are all in great shape. The lining of the cassette is a bit discolored, which is consistent with its age.
Dimensions:
Case: 35 x 12 x 4 cm.
Measuring device: 7.8 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm.
Total weight (case and knife rests): 1064 grams.
The placemats look beautiful on a luxury set table or party table. They are very suitable, for example, for use on a decorated Christmas table or New Year's Eve table.
