Pure datalite druzy on matrix from Sasso di Castro, Firenzuola, Tuscany, Italy.
Description from the seller
Solid datolite druse from Sasso di Castro, Firenzuola, Tuscany.
This refined specimen, originating from Sasso di Castro, weighs 803 grams and measures 115 × 110 × 60 mm. The sample features a splendid druse entirely composed of very white datolite crystals, with no presence of calcite or other associated minerals.
The surface is completely covered with a dense layer of glass crystals, shiny and translucent, which in some areas develop into larger, more visible individuals, maintaining excellent definition and a uniform luster. The high concentration and regularity of growth give the piece a natural brightness and a sparkling effect of great elegance.
From a geological perspective, the sample demonstrates the optimal conditions of the hydrothermal processes that characterize the locality of Sasso di Castro. In the absence of other minerals, datolite was able to develop freely, forming a pure and compact druse that perfectly represents the quality and aesthetic beauty of this Tuscan locality.
A sober specimen but of great aesthetic and scientific value, ideal for those who appreciate the purity and finesse of perfectly formed crystals. A sample that encapsulates the entire essence of the datolite from Sasso di Castro: brilliant, elegant, and harmonious.
Kire Minerals is proud to present this splendid specimen, carefully and passionately selected by Erik Lombini. Each sample is born from a careful and motivated choice, the result of years of experience and a genuine love for mineralogy.
