Koopcontract huis Oudegracht 1763, an original 18th‑century transport deed from the Netherlands (Utrecht), written in Dutch and dated 1763, in good condition and one item.
Description from the seller
1763 – Original transport deed with city seal – Oudegracht Utrecht – Brewery De Boog – Large seal on ribbon
Original, fully 18th-century transport document (August 9, 1763, confirmed October 19, 1763) concerning the sale of a house, cellars, closets, rooms, and courtyard at Oudegracht in Utrecht, near the well-known house and former brewery 'De Boog' (now Oudegracht 367–369).
The deed is drafted before notary Philippus Pot in Amsterdam and is officially ratified by the bailiff and aldermen of the city of Utrecht. Signatories include, among others, Mr. Jan Floris grave van Nassau La Leeq, Mr. Jan André van Westreven, Mr. François van Veldhuysen, and Justus Godin.
The document bears the original large city seal of Utrecht, which was in red, attached to paper ribbons. Despite some cracks, the seal is largely recognizable and still affixed to the charter. In the top left corner, there is a paper stamp/watermark typical of Dutch paper from this period.
Attached is a readable typed transcript from the 1980s.
A beautiful and very interesting piece of Utrecht's city history.
Format size: approximately 50 x 33 cm.
Condition: good; folds consistent with age; seal partially broken but present; text fully legible and sharp.
